Biography[]

Backstory[]

Eugene Clelland was remanded at Highfield Prison in 2014 for an unknown crime. He became the cellmate of Peter Barlow, who was remanded there that same year after being charged for the murder of Tina McIntyre.

2014[]

After Peter was held on remand after being charged for the murder of Tina McIntyre, he shared a cell with a rather chatty and happy cellmate Eugene. Eugene acted as a support to Peter during his time in prison, and made futile attempts to keep him on the right path, such as not dealing with prison crime lord Jim McDonald and trying to stop Peter from falling into alcoholism. When Jim sent two thugs to take Peter away and beat him up, Eugene showed loyalty as he prepared to stand by Peter, but Peter ordered him to stand down as it was his fight.

Although Peter was initially found guilty for killing Tina and faced a life sentence, this was overturned when it was discovered his sister's boyfriend Rob Donovan was the real culprit. Before Peter was released Eugene said his goodbyes to Peter, and made him promise to stay off the alcohol.

The outcome of Eugene's trial is unknown, although it is likely now he is out due to feeling confident about being released.
